Tademy's fictionalized account of her maternal ancestors, from 1834 to the 1950s, begins with her enslaved great-great-great-great-grandmother Elisabeth and continues with three generations of successively lighter descendents. My comments;

A book from the Bookclub Cookbook. This was a really good story. I enjoyed it very much.
